Help with Year and Asking Price
Well used with some patina. 83-84ish Colnago Mexico in 'Saronni' Red.
57cm C-C seat and top tube.
Bike is mechanically very tight. Cosmetically exist some challenges.
What year, how much should I ask, or should I be greedy and polish and part it out? (I find it morally questionable to part out a bike that's in original condition).
I do have one of theose Colnago stamped headsets I'd change out for the replacement Record, and please forgive me for not changing the pedals - I'll get some SR pedals on ASAP.

I'd imagine it's worth buying hoods (not necessarily NOS campy globe hoods, but some kind of hood) for the levers.
Date- What's the RD stamped with?
Price- Check ebay? Seems that's how you're planning to sell this thing to the states anyway. Subtract 15-20% from ebay (to offset seller fees) for forum sales.

There should be a date stamp on the rear dérailleur. There is also a date code on the inside of the crank arm. A number inside a diamond (1970's), circle (1980's), or square (late 80's). This will help date the bike if you are confident the bike came with that group and if not, if the date on the rear dérailleur and cranks match, higher chance the group came together and with the bike.
For a price comparison look at this bike:
1987 59cm Colnago Team Custom Build Columbus SLX Steel Road Bike w Full Campy | eBay
This bike has been listed a few times since late November and he hasn't been able to sell it for prices of $1400 to $1600. Yours is a little nicer I think. I think it might sell this time around for the opening price.

colnago | eBay

That was my point. Colnagos on eBay typically have asking prices > $1500 and often upwards of >$2K for Super Record, but lately haven't been selling.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer and especially NOT calling the OP's veracity into question, but:
How do we know
It's a Mexico
Very common thing (especially on the Bay) to call a Super a Mexico after someone puts easily available chain-stay stickers on it proclaiming it as such.
Then you buy it and you weigh the frame and it's a Super with a Mexico sticker on it. Don't ask me how I know...

thanks for the answers - I'll put some elbow grease into it, new hoods and and decals, and probably keep it because it's so sweet!

I would guess it's an '84 - '86. Nice bike! I believe the correct hoods for those years should have the shield, not the globe although that's kind of a niggling difference. Nice repo's are readily available The panto'ed parts would bring a lot of money if parted out and would be the most profitable way to go but I understand your not wanting to do that. I would think $1200 - $1500 would be doable on eBay for the entire package cleaned up.

Cleaned up on flea-bay no takers @$1100.
I hate myself for parting it out but the the sum is now over $1200 for the frame and pantographed parts alone.
Shame as it was an original package, but I need to liquidate do to a coming relocation.
