The serial number does little to help me with id, however, vintage might be defined by a two digit number, stamped into the top of the rear derailleur.

Based on what I see, I might guess that the bike is a late seventies or early eighties Rekord 848. If so, keep it, the one I had was a very nice looking and riding bicycle.

Found this one in a back alley, tossed away until I expressed interest in it. Yup, there went twenty bucks!-)

How many threads did you start for this? I think it is a '82 Nuovo Racing but would like to know more details.
