It is a frame made with aluminum lugs, with carbon tubes bonded in. Sorry, I can't ID it further. Specialized made similar frames before the MTB era.

Wut? Spec started selling MTBs in 1981. Took 'em a while to get around to crabon tubes glued to Alu lugs. I don't think they went with the monostay config, at least none of the Epics I've seen have been monostay.

Not a Trek, like the ad compares it to. Pretty sure their lugged carbon frames had twin stays all the way up to a fastback seat cluster.

yeah, im not really interested in buying it... even at half the price since it looks way too small for me. But I do like old school aluminum lugged carbon frames and i'd be interested to know just in case I found another one in better nick and in my size.
not a giant 980C - looks similar though.. maybe a variant from giant?.
