Campagnolo Record Rear Hub & Mystery Front Hub
These came with a bike I just purchased. The rear wheel seems pretty straight forward - Record Hub with a 7 speed cassette that I cankn't identify, and Mavic CXP 30 rim, no skewer. Thinking $125 for this alone. Sound about right?
I can't find any identifiers on the front hub so I'm assuming it's some kind of cheap no name brand? With an Ambrosio tubular rim. Not sure if this is worth much at all. This does have the campy skewer.
Thoughts? Ideas for pricing the set?
Thanks.

Front is a high flange Record hub with possibly the oil port clip missing and tape substituted.
On a 36 hole hub, radial spokes are probably okay, not endorsed by Campagnolo.
Front rim appears unused. I am not sure what the total valuation question is.
The rear wheel might be okay, plenty of things to look at, the status of the rim and wheel, the wear on the freewheel, be sure to examine the rear axle to make sure it is not bent, more common on seven speed rear wheels.

Still learning
Unless at "fire sale" prices, local sales of wheelsets are few and far between. You think that your rims are worth something, as you took the time to take pictures and post this thread, so take a few more minutes and search ebay.

Tough to get $125 for a rear wheel like this since you don't have the matching front.

Ebay as a resource has advantages, but, in general, when I see the lone comment 'check ebay completed listings' it translates to "I dont have a clue'
As mentioned earlier mix n match wheelsets have minimal value as a set. For maximum ROI they need to match.
I'd value the rear wheel, as it sits, in the $50-75 range and the front in $50-75 range as well. Most of the value is in the hubs versus as a complete wheel. Here's why:
Record rear hub: $50-75. Shipping $6. All in $56-81
Rear wheel: $75. Shipping $35. All in $110. I dont know anyone who would pay $110 for that wheel.
Same with the front wheel. The shipping charges kill any possible chance of making profit on either wheel. All in around 475 for the rear wheel means you'd need to sell it for $40. No ROI. your best option is to list each wheel individualy on Craigslist or do what I do and cut the hubs out to sell loose.
Campy buyers tend to be very particular, without proper skewers and oil port clips you'd be lucky to get $30-40 for each hub. (maybe I need to lower my initial valuation?!?)

Btw - had that character as my profile pic on another forum year or so ago. Love that kid.
