Value of 1969 Schwinn Twinn, one owner

Hello everyone! I have a 1969 Schwinn Twinn that my dad bought for our family in 1970. It is all original except for new tires I put on last year. It has been stored indoors for its entire life. I even have the original owner's manual, store tag and a catalog (missing pages 1-4, but showing the Schwinn Twinn.)

I"m posting pictures so you can get a better idea. It's single speed with coaster brakes. Thank you very much for any feedback and value estimates!

It appears to be all original and in excellent condition, and that means a lot. The manuals and tag are a nice bonus as well. Tandem value depends not only on those factors but also quite a bit on the local market since they are so expensive to ship. I'd put the value at $300 in most markets, possibly more in a really good market. In that condition it would be worth even more if it were a 2-speed or especially 5-speed model. While it doesn't really matter the catalog you have is from 1970, here is the 1969 catalog page:

THANKS, Metacortex! Your comments really help me out a lot, and thanks for the correct picture for 1969. Good to know I have the 1970 catalog, and can count on this group to keep me in line. ; ) This tandem is super sentimental to me, and so I definitely need that objective outside eye. Thanks!

Tandems can be real dogs. I've seen some real nice ones languish on CL for a long time. It's a niche market but the Schwinn name, quality of this bike, manual and store tag obviously add value to the right buyer.

Thanks, all of you! This gives me a really great perspective on the value of this bicycle. In my eyes, it's priceless (or at least $10,000), and I do so appreciate the objectivity and wisdom you've shared with me here. Rock on! ; )

I realize this is an old thread. Very nice Twinn! I just bought a 1969 Schwinn Twinn. In DESPERATE need of restoring. Cant wait to get my hands on it! lol. Your's is very nice! I was doing a little research on these. Are you sure yours is a single speed? It might be a kick-back 2 speed. Mine is. Just figured I'd throw this out there. Here's mine...only pic I have so far.

The decals on the down tube on mine will need to be replaced. I'm wondering how to remove what's left of the old ones without harming the paint.....

During a lapse of judgment I once bought a tandem similar to those. The ride was abysmal. The weight of two people on a big heavy rubbery gas pipe frame etc., was just too much. I gave it away to a friend. He never spoke to me again. I recommend a test ride before committing to buy.

It's only worth as much as the one backing you up.

Okay, that was the obvious line, but I've seen one, they are kinda neat.
