71 Paramount. Forced to sell.

Here's a link to the CL ad.
Don't be afraid to PM an offer. Worst that can happen is a "No thanks, I'm gonna hold out a bit longer."

Any shipping will be handled by a LBS because trust me, you don't want me doing it. ;)

bikemig 07-20-15 10:31 AM

Oh man, I'm so glad I just bought a frame and told my wife it was the last one (for this year, :innocent:). This bike is beautiful and it's my size . . . .

trailangel 07-20-15 10:35 AM

Who is forcing you to sell this bike?

Fahrenheit531 07-20-15 11:00 AM

Satan himself.

Holy moly! That is one HUGE bicycle! From the ad: "56" frame". That thing is just over a foot shorter than I am tall!

RobbieTunes 07-20-15 07:05 PM

I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with me that I think I can ride a 57cm......

....and I have a 70mm Cinelli stem, too.....

....and that's a zero-setback seatpost....

seedsbelize 07-20-15 07:48 PM

Hey, if I can ride a 62 cm, you can do a 57. 58 is my normal.^^ I use a 60 mm stem.
And the big boy is a Paramount. We make small sacrifices, sometimes, for a really nice bike.

Steve Whitlatch 07-20-15 07:51 PM

Sweet deal!! Sorry for your loss.

Unrelated but I'm actually looking for a short stem for a bike that I just picked up. I'm 5'9" and it's a 57 cm. Seat tube is perfect but the top tube is a little longer than I'd like. I'm seeing some 60 mm stems on ebay but do they make them shorter than that?

I had a 40mm SR stem at one point, but found a home for it already. Keep your eyes peeled and you may find one, too.

That looks (a) painful in a grown on sort of way, so I think (b) it needs surgery.

Haha. I was so new to road bikes at the time, I had no idea it was out of the ordinary:

(Sorry for the thread-crapping, @J.Oxley -- hope the situation improves...)

jjames1452 07-21-15 03:44 AM

Thank goodness that is not in my size. My wife is just warming up to N + 1, but this would drive her over the edge!!
(and me to the couch)

Good luck!
Sorry for the forced sale.

But if you think a 57cm frame is a challenge, you should try a 56" frame. That's a whopping 142cm!

Is that the new "vertical" only stem? :-)

Gorgeous bike...sorry for your having to sell it...

rootboy 07-21-15 06:29 AM

Good price. Especially with those nifty leather brake hoods. ;)

HAHAHA How many times have I laughed at someone else's gigantic frame? Many. It's fixed now. Thanks for the heads-up.
Oh, and after a good and proper measurement, it's actually 57cm, with a 56cm top tube.

Which I love, by the way. But I don't have the heart to take them off for the sale. They very much belong there.
But hey, this is how you get repeat business!! ;)

Platform bike shoes for the win!

Why am i broke.

HIGGINS!? 07-21-15 12:15 PM

You would be crazy if you did...but if you ever decided to part i could take like 90% of the components depending on the price. Im local.

I'm not above occasional acts of lunacy. And a lot of this bike is non-original anyway, so it's not like we'd be doing the bicycle equivalent of carving up Picasso's Guernica.
But for this to be a possibility I'd need someone to express an immediate and sincere interest in just the frameset. Hmmmmm... Easier shipping! :D

gaucho777 07-22-15 10:19 AM

Oh, man, that's a beauty. I expect a buyer to come around shortly at that price. Probably would have been gone by now on the SF Bay Area CL. Your loss, someone's gain for sure. And rootboy special hoods and binda straps: a great combo! Good luck with the sale.

fender1 07-22-15 11:16 AM

Whachu' want for frame/fork shipped to 19312?:)
