WTB mid-80s Peugeot road bike 54cm-60cm range
Still working on donations for a December charity auction, all proceeds go to my kids' preschool. I got my mid-80s mixte, need a road frame to match.
Hunting a 54cm-60cm mid-80s Pug with the striped yellow/orange decal scheme below in any paint color.
Cheaper model with clamp-on FD is ideal, but I'm not picky. Doesn't need to be complete.
If you don't want cash, I have a LOT to trade if you prefer. I've done business with several other BF members if you need references.

(Sorry if this is your bike - I'll remove pics on request)

I was looking for Mixte last week but scored a pretty nice metallic grey '85 PH18 on Craigslist for $130 a day after I posted a WTB here. Fenders are shot (bent, lenses missing), but the frame itself was in really great shape. That's what set the tone for the 'orange/yellow stripe' pattern.
Thanks for thinking of me @oddjob2, hoping to find something sooner than later. Sucks, I have so many with the top-tube logo with downtube stripes it's not funny, and two mid-70s mixtes. I am just not willing to sacrifice my PGN-10 to the cause, it's become my daily rider.
In the process of hunting I actually found a 52cm-ish Vitus 980 nearby though, PSV10, I think? Just over $100 and in good shape. Way too small for me, and too small for the intent of the auction...

Hmm, well I have an burgundy '84 PGN-10 in 56cm that's a tad too small for me (my Miami Vice Ironman is my go-to road bike these days) and now it's just sitting around with the wheels off. Not pristine paint-wise but rides great.
Here's a set of pics from when I got it and one from its built-up phase. https://www.flickr.com/photos/rcscha...57613063693862

@rcschafer nailed it, but paint is a bit rough for me. I'm on a limited timeframe and don't have time to do paint/decals - my completed submission is required by 10/31. If I can find a maroon color match on paint, I may come back to you

PS - I believe the P4, P6 and P8 in '86-'87 used this decal scheme as well in grey, black, blue, red - I'm totally cool with a lower-end bike like those. I'm not looking for fancy or awesome rider, I'm looking for a matching companion.

Can I sweeten the deal for anyone by offering an unused Stronglight B-Hinault headset and/or an excellent Stronglight Competition headset?

Thanks, @oddjob2
The two I see with desired orange/yellow striping (red fixie, grey/black 12sp) look like a 60 and 63 respectively, and I was asked to target a 5'9-6'0 man. That said, I'm fairly desperate at this point. If the 12sp was still available, I'd pay up to seller $150-$175 for it depending on condition, even though it appears to be a 63cm.
I'll keep eyes pegged on your area. Total 'brain fart' on my part - I hadn't thought about using facilitators yet
I CL'd everything from W VA to FL over the weekend hunting for anything within 7-8 hours drive. Eyeballing a couple of other outlets as well. Not having a ton of luck here.

Contact seller about a sale, oldspokeshome can probably ship it to you.

If only minor service is required (tires, BB, headset, wheels) I'm thinking $200-$250 max, knowing tires+cables+tubes alone is $70 out of pocket after tax and this probably won't go at auction for more than $350, I'm expecting $200 for the mixte, $350 for a nice mid-range roadie. I'm still choking on the idea of paying $200-$250 on this bike knowing I bought my '84 PGN-10 very lightly used with a physically broken rear derailleur for $130, but everyone has their own ideas on value, y'know?
I do notice the Christophe toe clips appear to have rust pits ($20 replacement), the straps are missing ($15 replacement), and the 501 downtube sticker is flaking. If the clips are in that state, there's probably a bit of pitting to deal with on the Rigida wheels, possible surface rust on the nipples ... and the tape is pretty darn rough looking. Maybe $150-$200.
Will continue the CL hunt in the midwest and NE USA tonight I guess

Seller is comping off eBay sales and quoting 800-1200 at the moment for a sale. I linked him up to the appraisal forum, but who knows if they'll follow through. If it's correctly ID'd as PGN-10 and truly in mint shape and not requiring any service, I'm ballparking $250-$350 sale value (not a steal for either of us).

Hey @kvnmuadib, I currently have a line on a mid-80s bike for $50. I'm following through to try and get someone on it. I don't want to miss a possible opportunity, I'll PM you an email address - send me some pics of yours and what you're asking for it in case I can't find a facilitator to check out one of the three other bikes I'm trying to source through CL. Thanks!

I just want to say, huge thanks to both @DKop3 and @greg3rd48. These two gents facilitated shipping of suitable bikes. @DKop3 drove an hour out of the way to pick up an 80's Corbier for $50 in Valparaiso, did a great job of packing and shipping it out quickly. From finding the bike to receiving it took less than 7 days. @greg3rd48 actually found what I believe is an '88 Nice (full SIS) on eBay I scored for $140, picked up from the seller after work, had it professionally packed for and shipped to me at no charge, which was beyond awesome.
If I can figure out what the original FD and crank were on this Nice, I think it's likely what I'm going to be building up for auction. I'll do my best to post pics of the finished bikes beforehand. I managed to get a 4 week extension to drop off the week of auction in light of delay in getting the road bike to go with it and the lack of storage at the school amongst other auction items.
Anyway - thanks Greg and Eric for an awesome facilitation experience. You helped save my ass in a pinch!
