Ko Zieleman Type Special, Reynolds 531 DB
$250 obo
I have a vintage Ko Zieleman Type Special that I used to race when I was a teenager. That was back in the '70s. Well, its now clogging up what little space I have in my garage.
Its a bit of a Franken-bike - Some Nuovo Record parts, some Dura-Ace parts, some other stuff. Reynolds 531 DB frame. I forget how exactly to measure the frame size, but I believe its around 21".
Still in good condition.
Located in Sarasota, FL.
PM for more info.

Pedal to the medal
Great deal on a good looking frame. Good luck with it.

Very interested, if frame is in fact 21"/52-3cm.
I've been looking for a Zieleman for a while, since seeing some neat ones in the NL.
Messaging...also may need some facilitation!

Center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube is 22 1/2". Back in the day, when frames were measured differently, this was a 21" frame.

Sounds more like 55 or 56 cm (more like 22"), which also makes sense based on the head tube.
To facilitate your sale, you might also want to measure the top tube ctc. People often want to know that key measurement.
Cool bike and looks like it's in great shape.

Is there anybody that can help with shipping in the Sarasota area? This is a total grail bike for me.

I mean I may be able to but if the OP is listing a bike for sale here shouldn't he be willing to ship it?

I received the following detailed pictures. The seller did not mind I post these pics here. He confirmed the dropouts are Campy.
He received it in 1974 so it's at least a few years older. Per OP no serial number.
What do you think? is it a re-paint? How can I tell it truly is a Zieleman? Most frames I have seen have some chroming, this one does not but perhaps it is covered up.

So if anyone has additional info on it, I'm curious as well.
If it had been painted, I would think the decals wouldn't have been easy to replicate. Seems like a lot of effort for what was an obscure name in the US back then.

Ko Zielman type Special
I've decided not to buy, so it's available again. Not because it's not a great bike (because it is) but for personal reasons.

I have what I was told is a 1971 Type Special. It looks very similar to the OP's from the single photo I can see. It should have KZ stamped into the seatstay tops (later on they replaced KZ with Zieleman). Other than that I don't know how to identify it, but that should be enough.
Mine is 56cm/22" c-t. The top tube is quite short at about 54 or 55cm c-c.

Awesome bike at a bargain price, especially converted to euro
I can confirm pullup info on not all Zielemans having the KZ-stamp and this also counts for frame numbers. Between the two of us (pulp and I) we have never seen two Zieleman bikes that were exactly the same. Each one is a custom made bike to personal preference and made the available parts (frame/lugs parts and or other parts). It is not unusual that a Zieleman has a mix-up on parts varying from Campy to Mafac to Shimano to Sugino to Suntour and so on.
One of my Zielemans has 531 decals, but a Columbus stamped steerer tube. Repaint or not? I don't know or care, cause that is typical for Zieleman. It rides like a dream!
Did I say someone should seize the opportunity to buy this perfect specimen? The colour is also very genuine for the Zielemans of the early nineties. I have seen a couple in this red and red&white decals and rainbow ribbons, but they were all 'blessed' with heavy patina. gfischman's one is in an exceptionally beautiful state.
Good luck with the sale!

Someday a 21" (52/53cm) will come along...right?
