Caveman sez: Buy it, build it, go climb a mountain

Mine will fit up to 35mm tires, but 32mm with fenders is probably a no-go, assuming you're using the 27" rims it was built for. Not a ton of clearance under the fork crown.

FWIW, canti posts are about 63mm and 73mm c-t-c.

Tempting, but it's property tax season, water/sewage/garbage quarterly billing season, and I just recently bought a different frame. Let's see how things sit next month.

That was around way too long. A decent touring frame at $100, reduced to $75 should have sold fast, imo. If it doesn't say Miyata or Trek, people get all uppity, but there are a lot of good touring frames from this time period.

This is going up next:

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...-champion.html

I can check and see if it will fit a 35mm tire. I have asset of 35mm Hyper Randos on Sun rims to measure. It looks like it just might...some MAFAC Racers and big fat tires on a 531 frame and fork with tight geometry....

He twisted my arm & forced me to buy it. It looks like they'll drop it off here tomorrow. This one will be my extra back burner project, unplanned, but not unloved.

Hey fender1, it arrived in good condition, due to your excellent packing skilz. Thanks very much. I keep thinking that I ought to wipe it down with WD-40, then maybe wax, to try to preserve the paint & decals. The stripes look way cooler in person, purple & light blue (cyan ?). But it's snowing again here, so I'll probably just procrastinate, until it warms up again.

Excellent! Glad it worked out well. It is a cool frame for sure and I am glad I was able to rescue it and move it along to someone who will enjoy it!

I am not in a rush. BTW, I thought of you because I have pretty much complete 22" 86/87 Schwinn Cimarron that will be going up soon. I had brush painted it as a place holder until later date (the original paint was shot). Frame is in great structural shape. I ordered a set of original decals from ebay and much like your situation, they never showed up. The seller (who seems cool) is trying to see if they get returned to him.

Anyway, that will be going on the block soon as well. I bought a Riv Hunqapillar and I have to move out the bikes that overlap. I will include the decals if they ever show when it goes up.
