'80-'81 Merckx Professional

**55cm c-c seat tube, 55cm c-c top tube**
Uncommon "signature" frameset; unique seatstay caps and bottom bracket. Recent repaint by Wanta. Not perfect, but very presentable.
Super Record:
headset, brakeset/levers,FD, RD, shifters, crankset, seatpost (I have a nicer one installed now)
Nuovo Record:
bottom bracket and hubs
Wheels are MA40 clinchers laced to NR hubs. Nice, very minimal brake wear
Campy SL pedals, Christophe clips and straps
Original seatpost binder bolt
3TTT bars an stem, repoduction SuperCorsa saddle
Regina chain and freewheel

Recent life events have left me examining what I think is important in my life. This bike isn't important to me.

$1200 for the complete bike.
Parted out:
$500 for the frameset
I'll sell the group and wheelset only after the frameset sells.

Agreed. A beauty, and my size also, but not in my budget.

Good point, Robbie. If it will take 28mm tires. That RD on that hanger will shift a 28 cog, which would get most riders over the larger inclines.

Also, if anyone is interested in the frameset, I'd do a partial trade for a canti eqiupped, early Trek frameset, 24". Bonus points if its wearing a shabby black repaint (seriously).

How early we talking? I have a pretty clean '85 620 with cantis that I'm about halfway through refinishing. Granted, I think your Merckx would likely be on the small side for me, I may be able to talk the gal into it. Will have to check the size on the 620 though.

Sold local. That takes care of half the funeral home bill.
