Suntour Command 7spd Index Bar Shifters
 

Take offs from a bike purchase. They're pretty cool so half wondering if I should keep them. Looking at my build queue though, I think they'd just end up on a shelf.

Suntour Command shifters were a genius way of putting index shifting on your drop bars without the use of STI levers. They mount on the inside of the brake levers and work sort of like thumb levers for drop bars. This pair is in excellent condition and worked perfectly on the bike before I took them off. Last pic shows what they looked like on the bike.

• Front shifter is accushift (lots of small clicks). I think you can use it with a triple but you might want to research to verify.

Although @mrmw, the Accushift King bought them ( :D), I just wanted to correct your post for posterity-

Accushift is Suntour's indexing system. The front shifter is friction- the "micro-ratcheting" that Suntour started using on the Sprint friction shifters- it's a more fine ratcheting than the old Power Shifters. Kind of like 3 "micro" clicks to one "Power" click.

The rear is Accushift- Suntour's indexing system- it's different than Shimano's SIS system. Different cable pull, different cog distances in 7 and 8 speed.

And thank you for the correction. I guess that's why the rear lever is labeled Accushift and the front Power Control. Duh :)

I use Accushift shifters with Accushift center to center spaced shimano cogs stacked on shimano hubs, documented in detail elsewhere here. After having revived several sets of brifters with artful overdoses of spray lubricant, one learns to appreciate index shifting at the hoods absent an absolute plethora of minute springs, levers and gears.

I have 2 sets of these that I've been thinking of using on a build. Did you get them to index with shimano 7s? I thought you had to use suntour indexing 7 freewheels with these?

These are sold and on their way to a new home.

Don't take this as gospel- but I've "heard" that Accushift 7 speed shifters, with an SIS derailleur- with the cable in the "alternate" cable route will work on a 7 speed SIS freewheel. Just something I vaguely remember reading.

FYI - I'm using 7 spd Accushift bar ends with Suntour XCD RD and Shimano 7 spd HG cassette with fantastic results. Every shift is spot on.
