Brooks saddle bolt
 

WTB/WTT.. I broke the tensioning bolt on my Brooks Flyer a week ago and I can't find a suitable replacement. Anyone have one from a broken frame they can part with? I have lots parts or would happily just buy it. Thanks

Here's the pic again. Because it sheared off when I was riding I suspect it's the 1st one based on looks. It's about 20mm from the head to the start of the threads. I lost the tail end with the bolt but I have the saddle.

I'm afraid I have more frames needing nose hardware, than I have nose hardware. I need to order more. If I can ship one to you cheaper than Niagara can, I'm happy to help, I'll just add another to my next order.

Changing the subject, though: are you sure you can get the new bolt into your saddle? I don't have a Flyer; does it have springs you can remove with a wrench? If so, then you may be able to insert the new tension bolt and then bolt springs back together. On the usual B17 or Professional type saddle it is very difficult to insert a bolt without removing all six cantle plate rivets first. If there is no obvious way to insert the bolt, you may be better off getting a stainless steel bolt of the right size at your local hardware store, on which the threads to all the way to the head. File the head to the shape of a Brooks bolt....

Thanks Rudy, I'll look into it more closely tonight. The leather just flopped upward once the bolt sheared. I assumed it would be easy reverse the process. Dangerous to assume things, I'm aware. I'll PM you
