WTB: Need vintage shoes for Eroica size 44

I am posting this for my riding buddy that just discovered one of his shoes for Eroica was left in a rental car (ugh!). He is in need of a new pair of shoes size 44 that are appropriate to use with toe clips (no velcro top please). He would be fine with a modern pair of shoes that is in the spirit of the Eroica or an older pair. Quite open to options. Thanks!
