1983 Gitane Super Corsa

My 1983 Gitane Super Corsa is for sale for pick up in person in Austin, Texas. I will consider shipping it by Air Caddy through Shipbikes.com in the continental United States at the buyer's expense. The price is $375.00. SOLD

This has the ultralight Super Vitus 980 lugged steel frame in 59-60 cm. I have built it up frame a frame that I purchased from a forum member There is a thread in the C&V forum documenting its' build. All bearings have been repacked. It has a wonderfully smooth ride.

This bike is displayed on a roller which is how I build and service my bikes. It has never been ridden on a roller. I am advertising here to to display it to some C&V enthusiasts. It is advertised for the same price on Austin's Craigslist. I have far more in it than the $375 that I am asking. It is a little too big for me. I would really like to see it go to someone who would appreciate and enjoy it. Please send me a PM and I will give you my Phone number and email.

When I read "roller" I thought you meant the wooden kind, and I was about to be very impressed that you could build while on one.

Just curious, have you tried the shifters in index mode?

Nice build, GLWS.

Hey, saw this, kinda locally, and was interested but I saw it on the roller and the fork appears kinda bent. Could just be low rake or the pictures. Could you put my mind at ease about the fork? It's a very nice bike.

Nice looking bike; with Vitus tubing, powerful brake setup & technomic stem. If my size id be all over it.

The Super Corsa sold today. A tall young man answered my Craigslist ad and it fit him perfectly. He said he had friends who knew about old road bikes who could help him with it if it ever needed anything.

I was sad to see it go. It was a little too big for me and I could use the extra space. It certainly rode well. It will probably be my lasr bike with tubulars.
