1986 Schwinn Peloton 58cm

I am taking this bike off the market for now 04/16/2017

My 1986 Schwinn Peloton is available for a face to face sale in Austin for $395 cash only. I would also consider shipping in an Air Caddy box by bike shipping .com at the buyer's expense. This bike has been built up by me with all new bearings, housing, cables, etc. It has a an ultralight Columbus Steel Lugged 58cm frame. It rides very smoothly and is geared for Austin's hills.

I am advertising here to get more exposure for my 86 Schwinn Peloton which is advertised for the same price on Austin's Craigslist. Hopefully more C&V enthusiasts will see it on here. I have other threads concerning this bike elsewhere on the C&V forum. Please PM me for my telephone number and email.

Not be overly picky, but your brakes, while lovely, are not dual pivot. I know you said "double pivot", but they are commonly called single pivot brakes, and perform quite differently from dual pivots.

Very eclectic mix of components. Love the crankset! Good luck with the sale.

New bike time? This one is sweet; that's a bit longer than I'd be willing to drive for a new bike though. But there's lot of reasons to visit Austin; it's a great town.

Price reduced to $395 for local pickup. Shipping in continental United States at buyer's expense.

Eclectic, but clearly well thought out build. Very Grant Petersen-esque. GLWS

I have decided to take the Peloton off the market for now. My Gitane sold today and I think I will ride this a little farther down the road.

This one fits perfectly and is set up for my needs. Maybe I will feel differently in the future.

Very nice!

you should start a new thread in the regular C&V forum. This is the "for sale" sub-forum. You'll get more action and traction.

Hi @Grace Acebedo , you can post in the regular forum for help on locating bikes. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/ Schwinn had a few higher end road bikes from that era that are really nice. If you share your location, we might be able to help with finding a source for you for a Schwinn Peloton or something similar.

Keep an eye on the last page of the "Are You Looking For One Of These" thread.

This one may or may not be a Peloton. I can't make out the stupid skinny Schwinn lettering. I may be able to facilitate.

Where are you?

Would a Prologue do? What size are you?
