1986 Schwinn Voyageur 63cm

Sold!

1986 Schwinn Voyageur in the classic green.
ST 63cm ctc
TT 57cm ctc
Columbus Tenax

Paint has a few chips but overall very nice. I took photos of the worst parts. Bad news on this bike is there is some chain stay crush from the PO having a kickstand, but it's not egregious, and the frame is still very true. Price reflects this damage. See photos or ask for more photos please.

Shimano Deore MT60 Crankset, front derailleur, rear derailleur. New small sprocket. New UN21 bottom bracket.
5 speed stock freewheel has been swapped for a 6 speed. If you don't like the suede saddle, I have some Avocet touring saddles I could swap for. Also comes with the chrome plastic crank bolt covers, I just forgot them for this photo shoot.

27" Wolber Super Champion Model 58 wheels 40 spoke rear, 36 spoke front. Basic Kenda tires on it now, as I figure buyer will want to swap out.

$350 plus actual shipping via bike flights, I will try to get it as low as possible.

Wow, that is nice. I really need to get the 1987 I got from @ColonelJLloyd built up. One of these days I'm going to find the time. I don't know what it is about Voyageurs, but they're cool.

Very Nice Voyageur, congrats on the sale. I just finished building up its little brother the 86 Schwinn Passage.

Hi, I have the same frame, same green - what is the correct wheel size for this bike? Currently my rear rim is an AlexRims DM18 and the chain/seat stays have to be spread apart to fit the hub/cassette.

I am the happy buyer of the bike in this post. I've got way too many bikes, but this one I'm riding a lot, lately. It came with the original 27" Wolber Super Champion 58 rims (as in the photos above). It is a 1988, (not a 1986) I haven't tried 700c rims on it yet, but it looks like they'd probably work too, with some brake caliper adjustment. Spreading a 126mm rear triangle to 130mm is no big deal. Ditto to "squeezing in" a 130mm without actually spreading, as well.

Overall, this is a world-class bike.

Here is link to a chart compairing all the Voyageurs from 1980-1991.

https://sandro.knot.org/wp-content/u...comparison.pdf

And seeing how this is a sales thread, in the Sales forum, and the bike is sold, we are closing this thread.
