WTB: DT shifters that can handle a 10 speed cassette

Something that can handle an 11 speed cassette would be even better!

But I'm trying to wrap up a build and I need some DT shifters that can cover a 8/9/10 speed cassette in friction. I need them to include all the mounting hardware as well.

Suntour accushift will do 10 in friction, will also index 10 with campy freehub, and racing triple ,or record derailleur of the same vintage. Don't know about 11

Good to know, thanks. I read somewhere on here that 6207 shifters will also do it, so I'll keep an eye out for either of those.

7700/7900 would both do it of course, and any Shimano 8 speed shifters.

7900 is index-only, I think. But if you're running a 10-speed cassette, that would be a pretty sweet setup.

Ah ha, noted. I had some back in the day but and would have used them in index anyway so wouldn't have noticed.

7850 are index/friction but impossible to find (of course someone here will pipe up immediately that they have a box of them, in which case consider them SOLD). 7700/7400/6400/1051/1050/6208 will work and switch nicely between indexed and friction.

BUT if you want the sublime feel of friction-only 6207 levers and mounting hardware, come right this way. Yes, they will shift across an entire 10 speed cassette (and likely an 11 as well), have done that several times including Schwinderella- which since we're likely talking about your Eroica ride, was ridden at this year's event with a 10 speed cassette.

Have a pair of nicely polished 6207's complete with shifter bosses and M5 bolts (note that the majority of the ones sold on eBay have the useless-to-you Shimano specific bosses and 4.5mm bolts). Stylish, polished, and complete. Yours for $30 shipped. Also think I have a matching long cage 6207 derailleur if you need to shift them big cogs.

Please pm me if interested or send an e-mail directly at rccardr@cox.net. I have all sorts of interesting Eroica type stuff on hand and two years of experience to answer any equipment questions you may have.

Rivendell has 10 speed dt friction shifters, they're pricey like everything they sell.

Yes please, this sounds perfect. This is indeed for the Eroica bike, which has an 8 speed cassette (12-32 I think) with an XT rear derailleur, but a 6207 long cage would match better. I'll PM you, thanks!

Turns out the RD is not a long cage. It will shift a 28 nicely, but your Deore will do a better job on a 32.

Dia Compe just recently started making shifters with a larger barrel to shift 11s. Kind of pricey, though.
