1978 Trek TX700 21" frame dark blue
A nice early Trek TX700 road bike that is currently setup as an upright city bike. It is small for me and I have tried to make it work but it doesn't get ridden very often so it is time for it to go to a new home. As you can see it is currently set up as a city/commuter bike with some nice parts on it. The frame was manufactured in 1978 in Waterloo, WI. Serial # G2B8098. measures approx 21" CTT on seat tube and 21" CTC on top tube. Reynolds 531 throughout with campy dropouts. The only modification to the frame is that the chain stay bridge was drilled out for fenders. All of the original parts have been switched out and are of a high quality. Most components are a Deore XT 700c kit from the early 90's. Other components include smooth honjo fenders (used once prior on another build so there are a couple duplicate holes that are hidden by the brake bridge and fork crown and some scuffs), Dia Compe Gran Compe 610 centerpulls(pivot bolts show oxidation in pic but will be replaced with new ss bolts) . Upright bars and stem have been switched out with nitto drop bars (pics to come shortly) , Shimano 600 cartridge headset, cork grips, brooks pro from the late 70's (was super stiff when first purchased but has loosened up with a couple proofhide treatments and riding), fluted seatpost, surly rear brake cable stop, jim blackburn rear rack. Pedals pictured are not included.
I plan on cleaning it up this week and taking some more pics but wanted to get the ball rolling if anyone was interested. These are getting hard to find so the price reflects that. Looking for $500 plus shipping OBO from 46280.

I still have this also. Any interest with a price drop? I have switched out the bars pictured with a drop bar setup. Pics to come shortly.
