1991 Bridgestone RB-1 for Sale - Excellent Original Condition

https://denver.craigslist.org/bik/d/...608043214.html

Selling my Bridgestone RB-1. 56cm ctt seat tube.

Very nice condition and basically 100% original. Bought from original owner 3 years ago and I've put maybe 500ish miles on it. He told me he probably rode it around 300 or less before he switched to mountain biking. Components are fantastic condition as is paint.

Non original bits...tires, tubes, pedals maybe? (pedals are off an RB-2 I had from the same year but I believe the catalog said that they are the same pedals)

Slight paint cracking near seat post. No frame damage, just paint
Tiny cut in handlebar wrap happened on my last ride out (a drop of super glue would probably do the trick)
Sliver of the R decal on seat tube missing
Decent size rip in back of Avocet saddle.

Amazing example of a fine road bike. Message me with any questions. I did my best to photo each component but let me know if you want a component list.

Thanks to everyone for looking

$600 plus actual boxing/shipping (probably around $100 depending on location)

I'd be all over that frame/fork. 11sp 6800 would be calling.
Sit that next to a 7700 Ironman and 9000 Carbon-R, oh, yeah.
Stable done!

You should, @RobbieTunes. It looks a lot like those Ironmans you like so much. It's even tempting for me, but I think it would be redundant for me.

I hadn't thought about selling just the frame and fork but I'd consider it depending on the offer

If you get that frame, I'd bring my 1993 RB 1 to the Dare.

So you can beat me on my own bike.....

And I picked up a Serotta. The group will go on my tentative Dare bike (3x9 Ultegra 6500) and the Serotta will pick up 2x9 DA, appropriate for a 1999/2000 model Atlanta.

Dare is still in the air. Moving this week.

Looks too big for a 54.
Anyway, you don't get to buy an 019 tubeset everyday of the week. Perhaps 022 with 019 fork? Rare and special. GLWS

Measured it again and it's definitely 56 center to top.

As Clubman mentions the frame is indeed Ishwata 022 with a 019 fork. Rides like a dream. I've had several interested parties both locally and nationally but no one has pulled the trigger yet.

FYI - I took the bike on my weekly group ride this weekend and afterwards had the head mechanic at my lbs take a look at the seat cluster for damage. He removed the seatpost and took a good look at it. His conclusion was that he did not believe there to be any frame damage. He said the section of the frame where you see the cracks in paint is a point of stress as the seatbolt is tightened. He mentioned that tightening the bolt to its' current position (the position necessary to keep the seatpost in place) most likely won't cause any more stress or damage. I asked him if he'd buy it in its' current condition and he said "yeah, I mean you ride it all the time with no issues' and he is correct in that statement. The small cracks in the paint seem to be purely cosmetic. I hope this helps alleviate any concerns with the condition of this bike.

Let me know if anyone is interested. Open to reasonable offers

Best,

R&GS

If you haven’t clicked on my sig, you’ll see my RB-1 converted to 650b. I can confirm that it’s a dream to ride 700x28’s, it’s pure heaven on 650x38. Just in case you’re wondering...
