Polished 175 Sampson Stratics cranks.
SOLD!!!
I bought these here This Thread and have since discovered that I prefer compact cranks.
So....
Up for sale is a beautiful set of rare (I had never before seen a set) 175mm Sampson cranks. The cranks have a few marks (as seen in pictures, mostly on the Non Drive side) but are in overall VERY good condition.
Included chainrings : 53t, 50t, 42t, 38t.
Just trying to get my money back out for a different project.
$90 SHIPPED!!!. Con US only. PayPal only (F/F or you pay fees)
OR BEST OFFER.

Yes, I have not decided to buy this crankset yet, as the arms are just a bit too long for me and I have enough in my stash right now, so, fellow C&Vers, feel free to step in and buy this very beautiful, unique American made crankset from Essthreetee.......before I decide to do so.

Bump and GL, I’m surprised no one has bit on these yet. They are beautiful, unfortunately I don’t think they would fit aesthetically with any of my bikes.

Interestingly enough, a Sampson Stratics titanium BB popped up on ebay right at an opportune time for someone to get both

I have a set that's 170mm - for the buyer just be real careful when torquing them on as they will crack. Ask me how I know. It's too bad because I love the look of the crankset.
Per my email conversation with Eric Sampson:
"We are aware of the issue, and it is why all the Sampson cranks were sold with precise mounting instructions ---and all cranks sold after 1995 also had a full warranty registration that required the installer to sign the form and fill in the torque setting-- While it is standard now for cranks to have a torque setting-in the 1990's most people ignored it, and the result would be a fracture as you describe, which was the result of simply pushing the cranks too hard onto the taper of the bb-
We had really about 0 issues with this series as I designed in a big addition of material on the top of the crank set, and the pedal flats, and most importantly, for a warranty (one year btw) owner needed to send in a warranty card that required the installer to certify and sign the torque used for the crank installation- To pop the top so to speak on this series took significantly more torque than the 250 in /pounds we required"
