Unbelievable, New old stock, new in box complete early 80s 25Ē Miyata 310, and 210

This is unreal, I found these Miyatas, in a few colors, and theyíre still in the box 30 years later, and still build up beautiful

I havenít built one up yet but Iíve seen them complete, fresh suede bar wrap, sparkling freewheels, etc

I can ship one to any bike forum member for 500 at your door, conus, Iíll calculate to anywhere else (these would make excellent gifts for people you know, a lot of us wouldnít ride anything but a Raleigh competition, but these are excellent bikes for someone tall who hasnít gone all the way down the rabbit hole yet)

Please let me know if youíre interested, have any questions, or anything like that

Iíll be updating this thread with photos as I unbox them for documentation, but I have the 310 in Silver Blue and Burgundy, and the 210 in sort of a coffee brown

Iíll also try and track down the catalog photos, the 210s have riveted cranks (the chainring riveted to the crank arm, but itís all alloy, I believe), maybe Sr or Sugino, and the 310s have five arm forged, mostly alloy components, and both have lovely brushed alloy rims on Japanese hubs, I believe all dropouts are forged, the 310 ones are for sure

Iíll get more photos of all this too, right now I have pics of the 210 box, and the open Silver Blue 310 box

These are all 25Ē and I do have a few of each

These are really beautiful bikes, you could do a lot worse, a whole lot

No fair keeping secrets - where did you find them?

Date codes will also nail down the production year. Is that your burgundy 310 in a box on eBay? Looks to be an Ď82 based on catalog scans.

Just my size... so tempting...

I havenít put any of these on eBay yet

So itís not mine, mind sending me a link though, that would be amazing, a few other people zeroed in on the same stash, and since the ownerís manuals will be in there I can look for a date, or check codes, if youíre interested let me know, and still curious what you were thinking about that FREEWHEEL!

Well, that is a shot of nostalgia!
I sold my 25" Miyata 310 in 1986 when I left for college.

Hey krems81! Been quite a while since you were here I think. We met when you were working at SBP.

Are these (and the others on eBay) perhaps coming from a stash connected with Jefferson Park?

I know

I feel like Iím looking at gems when I stand in front of them, I may be getting more of the burgundy (the blue are all gone), and more of the brown, if anybody wants a burgundy or brown right now (I havenít built up and photographed the brown yet), Iíll send it to you for 350 plus shipping, thatís really hard to beat, and itís hard to beat it as a GIFT!

In my experience even worn Miyatas tend to be in good shape, possibly due to excellent paint. But...wow! Brand new early 80s bikes!

Wow - those boxes are cool.
Can you show the picture of the top of the box diagramming how to select a proper fit?

Good luck with your flip. I offered to facilitate a long-distance purchase in another thread on these bikes and didn't get any interest. I ended up buying and shipping one of the maruishi's for a friend for around $190 all-in. If anyone buys one of these, make sure to service all the bearings. The 35 year-old grease was pretty gross.

Good gracious, that burgundy 310 is just stunning! I don't think I could ever ride one if I bought one - it's like a time capsule being opened!

And yes, now we need to see a BrightGold Commuter!
