Sweet 1972 Schwinn Paramount P13 F72183

If you are looking for a chrome Paramount for your collection, this could be it. The original owner of this excellent Schwinn Paramount was a member of the Chicago Cubs Dixieland Band. I am the second owner. The bike is original and complete down to the toolkit and pouch. You will be able to tell by the photographs that it is in superb condition, fully Campagnolo equipped, and lovingly cared for since new. The frame is 24 inches and I can provide other measurements on request.

As far as keeping complete authenticity, I replaced the red downtube decals and the white seattube decal with exact duplicates positioned precisely where the brittle original decals were located. I replaced the chain with a new Regina Oro, and NOS Binda toe straps. The rims are tubular 330g Schwinn approved laced to the original Campagnolo high flange hubs. They are laser straight and only have a few miles on them. However, you can have that wheel set, or the NOS Mavic Championat du Mondu tubular on Campy high flange hubs as originally supplied, proper dates codes, and which have never had tires glued to them.

I don’t know what else to tell you other than I love this bike, and if I didn’t have another very nice Paramount in my frame size (25”), and an electric bike on the way, it would keep it in the collection.

As as far as price, how about $1,850.00 and you pay for packing and shipping by your preferred method? Hopefully that would leave some meat on the bone and keep it in the Bike Forum family. I realize we are all a bunch of cheapskates here, because I’m one, too, but this is an exceptional bike.

Any questions feel free to call or text, or pm on the forum. Phone is 540-241-4953.

Given condition, originality and extras, I think this price is more than fair. GLWTS! Original chrome in this condition on a 47 year old bike is quite a find.

I haven’t gotten any bites here, so I put together an eBay ad. Hopefully the bike will find a suitable new owner.

Thanks for your comments and input so far.

On auctions anymore I just do buy it now, immediate payment required (check the box on the listing). I've gotten too many never pay bidders, about 10% in my experience. IMHO, eBay has no problem tagging sellers for any issue, but ignoring buyer issues.

It will be interesting to see if your auction catches fire. I would not be surprised with a $2500 final price.

GLWTS!

Available again

I sold this Paramount last year to a nice guy who lived in a Marathon, Florida. I just got a call from his family that he died unexpectedly and they are asking if I know anyone who might be interested in buying the Paramount. He had only used it as a display, and tools and records are still with the bike.

If you are interested or know of someone, let me know and I will send along the contact info.

Thanks, Jeff
