I will have an Avocet crank (2 actually) and an Avocet headset coming up for sale in the next day or two. If you are looking for Avocet stuff.

Late 1978 and 1979 SR RDs were apparently shipped with aluminum mount and pivot bolts. From the Classic Rendezvous list archives:
"Campagnolo did deliver a number of factory Super Record derailleurs from1978 thru 1979 that had alloy pivot bolts. It has been suggested that this was due to titanium supply problems, but there have never been any confirmation of this from the factory as far as I know, but it would seem quite reasonable to think that they might have been used as a temporary stop-gap measure. I can say that I first saw them on a SR equipped Colnago Oro showbike in 1979 at the Long Beach show. I also was told by a dealer in Marina del Rey that he was advised by Campagnolo USA that due to the limited supply of Ti bolt SR derailleurs, they were to be sold at a higher price and the "Superleggera" alloy bolt version was to be sold at less than the Ti version or at the "old price."

many 1979 Campagnolo Super Record rear mech's had aluminum pivot bolts, lighter, cheaper, easier to machine, ti was in short supply and expensive.

Thanks guys. This is a '79 so that makes sense. Definitely aluminum pivot bolts and not Ti. And pretty badly scratched.

My SR rear mech has aluminum bolts, didn't phase me in the least, TI is exotic stuff that has some weaknesses in its properties I am leery about. The old Soviet sourced stuff could be really brittle.

I'm interested in the brooks saddle. Do you still have it?
