Suntour VGT Luxe, Vista branded, refurbed

SOLD

Just finished refurbishing this derailleur, but I don’t need it. Fully disassembled and lubed, greased, and reassembled. There was zero rust when I started, and spring tension is very strong. Pulley wheels in great shape. Adjustment screws all have their retaining clips.

Here is a link to Disraeli Gears to verify that this is a genuine VGT Luxe: Vista V GT Luxe derailleur

Asking $32 shipped to the lower 48.

jjames1452 , you previously included your shipping address in the post above, but you removed it before I had a chance to jot it down, and it is not included in your paypal details. I PM'ed you about this, but haven't seen a response yet. Just want to make sure this goes to its rightful new home. Please PM me, thanks!

That takes me back a few years. My first "good" bike was a Lambert with their proprietary deralleurs. Didn't take long to upgrade to a steel caged GT, then a VGT-Luxe. The Lambert didn't not have a RD hanger, just a steel claw as my first SunTour. But I upped the gearing from the stock 13-24 FW 10 a 13-21, then 13-19. For better shifting, I took a scrap of 1/4" 6061 aluminum plate and made a custom, very short hanger (so the RD almost hit GR nut). That combo (with a 52-42-28 in front) shifted very, very well for the clunky 5-speeds of the day, (Winner FW.) I toured, raced and climbed Mt Washington on it. (Well, I cheated on Mt Washington and settled for that 21 tooth FW.)

That started my love affair with SunTour. Next bike was the Fuji Pro I raced, Cyclone. (Wow!). My Peter Mooney started with that VGT-Luxe, then GT'ed Cyclones, then newer GT caged SunTours. My Old Raleigh Competition has SunTours also. I'd have to go out and look to tell you what. (Front's an AR.)

Ben
