1981 Specialized Allez 60 cm $800

I believe what I have here is a 1981 Specialized Allez, Tim Neenan Design with full Dura-Ace build. The Dura-Ace components appear to be made in Feb 1981 according to date stamps I could find on the brake calipers. The shift cables are wired under the bottom bracket, I read in 1982-83 the were changed to above the bottom bracket by the factory. The Seat Stays also do not have the "S" or "Allez" on them so this likely predates those. It is not a 3rensho unfortunately. The bottom bracket reads 60K1 0225 so I assume it's the 225th made before they started with serial numbers. It's a very cool piece of history. Tubular tires, Shimano 600 cages.

There are some dings in the paint around the down tube shifters, from the chain and other random spots. There is a broken spoke in the rear wheel so it has sat the last two years in the garage. Looking to buy a new mountain bike so one has to go and I'd love this bike to go to someone who will give it the attention it deserves. Feel free to ask questions and I'll answer the best I can. Asking $800 + any shipping costs. Live in Monterey for local pickup.

Very nice! At that price, I would expect it to be cleaned up and in riding condition.
My size but not in the market. Too far, too high.

A very interesting piece of history.

Nice closeup pics... but I'd turn the front right brake pad around before riding it.

The first time I posted closeups of my 650b conversion, I had both front pads installed the wrong way...
