WTB: Clamp-On Simplex Retrofriction Shifters
As the title says, I am looking to buy (or trade for) a set of clamp-on (i.e., with band) Simplex retrofriction shifters. Let me know if you have a set you'd be willing to part with. Not overly concerned with appearance as long as they function properly--though the fancy version with the large Simplex "S" logo would be a nice bonus. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: P.s. I’d be looking to spend in the $50-$80 shipped range depending on model & condition. |

Bad news and good news Bad first I was sure had a set, but after tearing through my parts drawers I found they were Sachs Huret LUX AS double Shifters. SAS Double Shifters Good news They are NOS. If you can't find the Simplex ones, these aren't half bad. S Double Shi https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...032b6086e7.jpg Sorry it's shiny, can re-photo if you can't find what you need |
@WGB Thanks for looking. Much appreciated, but I’m going to hold out for the real deal.

Somehow Simplex look nice, even the cheapest ones. Just threw it out if not joy in your search.

I have a set of Simplex SLJ's with the embossed "S". They were NOS when I got them and I mounted them on my Trek, but haven't finished the build. I will take a pic for you later if you are interested. I'm looking for $75 shipped..John

It's hard to beat John's offer, but I'll float this out there. I've got three pairs of the open-loop version the ones shown here on CLW site: https://www.classiclightweights.co.u...iction-levers/
Two pairs are silver, one pair is black, I think two of the three pairs lack the Simplex branding. Simplex resold to multiple companies, Mavic, Galli, others? They're intended for direct-mount but I have a compatible chrome Simplex 'S' band to go with them. I see you saying you'd want to buy, but I'd prefer trading for mid-2000s era MTB/gravel Deore mech + lever, M5xx - M8xxx, 9-10spd and black preferred, 3x9 if front mech included. Of course I'm willing to toss cash in as needed. |
I've got a set of the newer open style mounted on my Mercian..those are pretty sweet too...J
