Offering up the comic-covered frameset if there is any interest. There is a photo album here.

I don't know the history of this, but it appears that somebody covered the frame by gluing on (paper) comics and then applying a clear coat. The work seems to be pretty well-executed. Most of the comics have a cool vintage look. It's really unique.

No idea what the frame is, or even what type of bike it was. It takes a 26.4 seatpost and has English BB threading. Rear spacing is at about 126mm. Measures around 52cm seat tube, 57cm top tube, both center-to-center. It fits 26", 700c and 27" wheels. It has numbers on both sides of the dropouts, I think the NDS is a serial #, DS is "G1284."

Full disclosure: condition is good aside from one major defect: the NDS BB shell/threading is misshapen. I've never seen anything like it. I think it is a manufacturing defect but cannot be sure. That said, the frame came to me with a BB installed, and it removed with no prob. I chased the threads (and faced it a little) just to be sure it was as clean & straight as possible. Seems to work just fine.

The frame shows well up close and the comic details provide the interest. I think it wants to be built as either a fixed-gear with no brakes or maybe a coaster-brake cruiser to keep clutter to a minimum. Or it could be a display piece.

Included with the frameset is a brand new seat post (not pictured), and the above mentioned (no-name) bottom bracket.

If you don't find a buyer here, there has to be some kind of comic book collector forum, ideally with their own sales forum.

Of course, you'll have to put up with some curmudgeon over there who vents over the destruction of a perfectly good comic book, just like some grouch here who might be lamenting the loss of original paint on this frame...

Part it out? I'll bet those comics have a value to the right buyer . . .
