WTB: 8 speed shimano, wider wheelset

I am trying to help a friend get up and running for some summer touring. Just bought him a vintage Novara Randonee, but wheels have been swapped out somewhere in its life for cxp21s, which are too narrow for intended needs.

looking for a solid 8-speed robust wheelset suitable for touring w gravel and wider tires (28s on there now, but a ton of clearance). From trial and error, seems mtb wheels have clearance. Everything on it is great, so just want to swap out wheels and tune.

Open to all options.

It’s really hard to beat Velomine’s prices for new wheels sets:

Hi, yep. 700. Sorry, should have specified.
And I forgot about velomine stuff. Checking it out now.

How wide a rear spacing (OLD)? 130 or 135?

I may have something in my stash. A319 rims and Deore hubs. Pretty sure they are 135mm spaced.

I think mine here are 130. But perhaps work either way. Curious for more info if you want/can PM any details?
thanks!!

Not vintage, but classic-looking, strong, and reasonably wide:
Roval Pave wheelset, $100 plus shipping and fees.

Righto, here's some pics of the wheelset.
It's spaced 135 in the rear. Standard 100 in the front, of course. Rear hub is Shimano FH-RM30, I overhauled it with G25 precision ball bearings and new Park Tool grease and it spins very nicely. Front is Deore. Both wheels 36 spoke. Both spin reasonably true. All spokes are stainless, straight 14ga. Front spokes are DT. Rear spokes marked with some letter, n or u or h. Rear rim is new (I replaced old one that was worn out) and front rim has a moderate amount of brake wear and is grimy because I toured on it in the rain. I can clean them up before sending.

Thinking $175 for the set plus whatever shipping is, if either of you want them. Shipping shouldn't be much via Shipbikes. Tell me if you think this is unreasonable for a good A319 wheelset!! The rims normally go for upwards of $50 alone so I think this is right.

Shouldn't really cross post this stuff. Not trying to be your cop but you should have a membership to post here. Not my rules.

I'm not trying to dodge it -- I'm only responding to some one else's Want To Buy. It was my understanding that the fee is applicable if I'm creating my own listing. Am I wrong in that?

Sorry, I missed that part. Perhaps a pm would be better? As I said, not trying to beach too much.

Yeah, I guess I thought the same thing. If I am out of line, mods please delete my above response. Just trying to pass on parts of the junkpile and get out from under things I impulse-bought and rebuilt back when what I wanted was different.
