1984 Claud Butler Brevet, 12 speed, 60 cm

For sale is a beautiful 1984 Claud Butler road bike, designed and handcrafted in England at Holdsworth Co.
Reynolds 531C fork blades, stays and butted frame tubes.
60 cm from center of crank to top of seat tube;
57 cm top tube, center to center.
12 speed Shimano Dura Ace derailleurs with original Simplex shifters. The Dura Ace are a upgrade from the original Simplex SX610.
Super Custom double crank set 52/36 teeth.
Weinmann 605 brakes with quick release.
GB stem and bars. Tange Levin head set.
The wheels are 700C size, with Nashbar rims and Campagnolo Chorus hubs. Good tires.
Vetta seat has a small rip.
The frame has special brazed bosses on seat stays and on the front fork blades which can accommodate front or rear carriers or lights.
The bike is clean, no rust. The paint is nice, but there are a few small scratches. No damages, bents or dents at the frame or fork.
New cables and bar tape.

Not everyday you see a 531c frame with braze on for rear AND front racks, seat tube is a little high for me, though I am still tempted.
Any idea how fat one could go with the tires?

I have a clearance of about 20 mm in front (between the tire and fork) and about 18 mm I the back.
If you google 1984 Claud Butler catalog you'll see the bike original with fenders

Checks so many boxes I'm so tempted, but alas, in doing my year-end accounting I choked on how much $$ I spent on bicycle stuff in 2021. Gotta lay off for a while (& I still have to get wheels and some other stuff for my PX-10.....).

Worth noting that this 86mm BCD crank can take much smaller rings than the 52/36 shown. You could make a nice "sub-compact" with it!
