That's too bad about the injury and missing work. This is tempting even though I don't need another bike. I also have a '68 Paramount that I've never fixed up I need to sell if I buy this.

I hope you get better soon.
As far as the bike goes, we forget how rare it is to see one without the downtube all scratched up from a clamp on water bottle cage. Really nice, GLWS, and I hope that bike goes to someone who lives in the hills.

I've been out of the USA for a long time now. But I thought workers comp was set up for exactly this reason. Am I missing something?

Workers comp is set up on base pay, I make double that while working. So it’s definitely a huge cut in pay.

I want to thank everyone for the kind words and also for not buying this. I was putting the new tires on and my wife came out to the shop and told me not to sell it if I really didn’t want to. So it’s no longer for sale.

@sloar

This is great news, made my day.
When the better half tells you to keep the Paramount, love her and the bike.
A more resounding endorsement, there could not be.

Thanks all, we’ll see how it goes. I’ll definitely keep my wife but if I need to the bike will go. Some things are more important.

Sloar great news and glad to see the support from your wife. She sounds like a wonderful person to acknowledge the importance of your beautiful bike, even under such hard decisions. I hope you are able to recover soon and get back on track. I am self employed and when I am sick or injured it hurts…bad. I too have support from my wife even though she teases me about my obsession with my bikes. Hang in there, Joe

Hope your work luck gets better soon - marriage luck seems to be doing OK.
Gorgeous bike. If anybody has a vintage paramount with a large-ish frame (63 cm or so) I might have some spare cash in a few weeks.
