Phil Wood cheap
$US50 plus shipping gets you a pair of early PW hubs, the rear laced to a Super Champion 27".
The hubs are 48 hole; the front is qr (no skewer), the rear is bolt-on, and has the bolts.
The rim is true and pretty much unused.
Spokes are stainless straight-gauge - DT?
The front hub is 100 oln.
The rear is either missing something or is wierd - it is also 100 oln.
Rear bearing are as smooth as anything I've ever felt, fronts not quite as nice (but nice enough).
Shipping will hurt, I'm in the Great White North; pm me for an estimate.

Looks like both are front hubs. The threaded one is for a disc brake.
PM on the QR hub

What bike would have had a disc brake 27" front wheel when they were making this hub?
Back in the 80s I converted a Sekine to disc front and rear with the early Shimano units, used a rear hub for the front disc in the same fashion.

That makes sense, from the dimensions, and I just checked the axle bolts on the wheel and they are for a front dropout slot not a rear.

I'll throw my name in for the threaded front wheel if it's still available. I'm trying to match a rear Phil tandem wheel, also with a 27" Super Champion. PM incoming.

Just making a comment in passing by - as I have a rim brake single speed mountain bike with Phil Wood hubs - and I have to say that there really is something magic about Phil Wood hubs. Before I built that bike I thought the rumors were based on fantasy.
It's a favorite bike to ride.
The rear wheel pictured here is unusual. It's the kind of wheel to build a bike around.
I really hope someone does something with it.

That remaining wheel - the bolted Phil Hub. I have one of those. When I ordered it I figured it would be the typical threaded axle and nut. Was surprised to see it had a bolt like a crank bolt. This was for my Raleigh Competition, set up as a farmer's market small pickup truck. A very stiff Jahdd (sp) lowrider rack. I was getting very tired of wrestling QR wheels out of the rack or needing to screw the QR in al the way to get it to slip out. Well, that bolted Phil slides in and out nicely! And Phil Wood chose to use a 6mm Allen bolt. How nice! A very common English Allen works just as well. A very happy solution for that bike. (And a hub I won't have to do anything to for years! Even if I have to roll it through a very deep puddle.)
