FS: Koga Miyata GentsRacer 1985
For Sale: Koga Miyata GentsRacer frame/fork/headset/a few other bits. Based on catalog info, this is from 1985.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qLk...1fwrEkif_/view
100/126 spacing. 58cm center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube. 55cm center to center top tube.
Tubing is Miyata double butted Hardtlite FM1, fork is Hi Manga HM-2.
Comes with Shimano 600 6207 headset, F*A*G bottom bracket (feels smooth with a crank on it, a little like dry bearings without), top mount friction only Shimano 600 shifters, and Blackburn water bottle cage..
Also comes with a 26.8 Shimano 600AX aero seatpost, and Shimano 600 AX stem (100 length, 22.2 insert, 25.4 bar clamp). Stem has remains of original, but brittle stem cap. The KOGA labels on them are in ok condition considering their age. They are just stickers though, they are not engraved logos.
Paint is fair, with dirt, some staining, numerous chips (which show chrome under the paint) and scratches, etc. There are some areas of under-paint bubbling. Nothing terminal, but it is there and looks worse than it is in some areas. The top tube cable guides have some rust, and the center one looks bad, but I never had an issue with it. No dents in the frame.
I was riding this as a 'daily rider', but then it got eclipsed by a few other bikes. I have not ridden it for about a year, so it's time to get it to a home that can appreciate it.
Many pics here: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjzvL71
$125 plus shipping. Please let me know your zip code for shipping estimate.
Lower 48 USA states shipping only.
Paypal preferred, or USPS money order.
Thanks

Dang, how do you find all of these gems? Love the thin barrel brake cable guides.

re: tires: i rode 28mm true to size veloflex tubulars without issue. to check, i just put a wheel in with them on, and i'd say maybe 30's would fit in the rear, the brake bridge being the limiting factor. there is plenty of chainstay clearance. fork should fit 30's no problem.

I had a Koga Miyata, not as nice as this one, but from the same era that I took on a tour from Finland to Spain. That was a nice bike and a heck of a fun ride.

*I have received a message from a BF member, saying they have a white leather Koga saddle that they will give free to the buyer of this frame. You might need to pay shipping, not sure, you'd have to work out the details with them. I will put you in contact with them after the sale. I added 5 pics to the flickr folder.*
