PHOTOS - https://photos.app.goo.gl/KCzMoS4sYhRysiUu8
PRICE - $875
FREE SHIPPING (in the CONUS). I ship internationally at buyer's cost.

Suntour Superbe GOLD mini-group. I originally collected this up to build a 3Rensho show bike that had originally been built with the same group, but the previous owner had stripped and sold off. I ended up being able to buy back the original parts for the 3Rensho, so I didn't need this backup group.

Suntour Superbe Bonze mini-group. No backstory on this, other than it's super cool and extremely rare.

Somebody must have a bike nice enough for that stuff. I saw a RS repainted red/white for sale somewhere.

No specific examples on hand but he may have touched on it when he did an episode on the Outspoken cyclist.
Its a fantastic listen regardless and I highly recommend it.

It includes a couple of parts of the gold group I don’t have NOS versions of - pedals, hubs, seatpost, stem and bars. for those that are interested, this bike is also for sale.

The story of this bike on your blog is absolutely bonkers for both the frame and the components.
Timing. Is. Everything.

Thank you! I'd humbly add that in addition to timing, it's about being curious and being willing to ask questions / pull on loose threads to see where they go. The adventure began on an empty Brooklyn wharf on a cold winter morning, when I bought what I initially thought was an unimpressive but affordable 3Rensho frame with a vague but interesting story. I spent weeks and months investigating its provenance, while also trying to track down all of its gold parts which had been already sold off to other folks. The gold parts I have for sale here are part of that journey - learning that they existed, and then relentlessly tracking down examples on Japanese auction sites, piece by piece. That's essence of a fun hobby, at least for me, and now it's time for me to pass on all these rare objects to the next collector so that they can write the next chapter of the story.

These parts and that bike are incredible. It's well beyond my means, but I trust that they will end up in a good home. It's also news to me that member pcb passed away -- I always enjoyed his participation. I look forward to having a quiet moment in the near future to build a wheel and listen to that podcast. Thanks, @merziac...

This whole C+V thing is a fair bit less interesting but I know he would insist we carry on without him.

I own the wheels, except, they are velodrome wheels. Built by a Portland master for his daughter to take to the Nationals. Gold Suzue Pro Max hubs (double sided rear) laced to GL330 rims and tied and soldered with the neatest ties you ever saw. As true as you will ever see. Not race wheels; 330s are way too heavy, but A1 gorgeous wheels for warming up in style.

Gorgeous stuff. Glad they sold and I hope the new owner finds an appropriate frame to use them on. While I haven't seen components like that in person I have seen some wonderful Dia Compe Royal Gran Compe black and gold brake sets. And yes, drooling resulted. The set I saw was a gift given to a bike shop owner after he toured the manufacturing facility in Japan. He said it was a complete surprise but after the tour, the host handed him a presentation box with the very special components. He never even opened the box to touch them. Not sure I could have resisted!
