Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra Professional Team ADR for sale

1987-ish Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra SLX. This was a race day bike for the original owner . Low miles. excellent condition. $1700

62 cm center of bb to top seat tube cluster

58 cm center to center top tube

Please see the component list below. The bike was originally with 7 speed downtube Dura Ace shifters. I later installed the Campagnolo Athena 11 drivetrain. The frame was not spread to fit the modern rear hub. The rear spacing is currently and always has always been 126mm wide.

Eddy Merckx Components list;
  • Also included is the original wheel set with Mavic 501 hubs and Mavic rims laced to anodized Mavic Open 4 CD rims. A 7-speed freewheel s installed. These are in excellent original conditions. Straight & true
  • A second road wheelset was built using period correct Mavic 500 series hubs and modern H & Son rims. These clincher rims are period correct in look but are very stout everyday wheels.
An Athena 11 drivetrain was installed, using new Athena 11 ergo levers, new Athena 11 derailleurs and a compact Athena 11 crankset with 50 & 34 chainrings. Front wheel Mavic 501 32 hole hub laced to new HN Son TB14b gray anodized rims clincher rims, 23mm wide. A third rear wheel was built with a Shimano FR 5800 105 hub that accepts any Shimano or SRAM 8,9,10,or 11 speed Cassette. Using the same TB14b gray anodized rims clincher rims, 23mm wide.

Athena 11 ergo levers, and derailleurs are perfectly compatible with SRAM or Shimano 11 speed cassettes. a SRAM 11-28 eleven speed cassette is installed.
  • Vittoria Open Pave 320 tpi Parigi-Roubaix Pro 25mm clincher green sidewall tires
· Rear wheel Shimano 105 32 hole hub (hub was new in 2016) laced to new HN Son TB14bgray anodized rims polished alloy clincher rims, 23mm wide
  • Also included is the original wheel set with Mavic 501 hubs and Mavic rims. A 7-speed freewheel s installed. These are in very good conditions.
  • Campagnolo skeleton brake calipers
  • Campagnolo 11-speed Athena 11 Ergo shifters, new in 2018
  • Campagnolo 11-speed Athena 11 derailleurs , new in 2018
  • Campagnolo Athena 11 Power Torque compact crankset 50/34 eleven speed rings.
  • Sram 11-28 11 speed cassette, near new
  • Thomson polished alloy seatpost, new in 2017
  • White leather Selle Italia Flite saddle, near new
  • Campagnolo Record headset & Campagnolo Power Torque bottom bracket, new in 2018
  • 3TTT 110mm clam clamp stem, NOS in 2017
  • 3TTT Forma SL Ergopower handlebars(these are original to the bike.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Absolutely. The decal style makes this frame 1986 or later. ADR cycling team rode MBKs in 1987, Merckx in 1988 and Bottechia in 1989.

Ooh, just a little too big. Great bike, great price! That silver Athena group with the compact crank is really nice modern upgrade for a classic frame.

Correct. very easy to return to a period correct Shimano or Campagnolo 2x7 drivetrain since the original wheels are included. The handlebars are original and the stem is an NOS identical replacement for the original.

I have had 2 mid-80's SLX Merckx in the identical frame size.
With 25mm Veloflex tubulars @105psi = paved roads disappear. 28mm Veloflex and the ride is cloud-like.

campa appropriate.
