WTB 650b wheel set, silver/silver 8-9-10 freehub
WTB 650b wheel set, silver rims/silver hubs 8-9-10 speed freehub, QR axles preferred.
I actually have a set of VO 650b hoops I was going to build up on a set of Campy NR Hi-Flange hubs I have in drawer, then thought, for this bike, I wanna have a 9 or 10 speed cogset in back so I can stick with a 1x crank up front. Problem is, I don't have a spare set of hubs for that, and instead of getting new hubs, plus new spokes to match and doing the labor myself, why not see if someone else has a set ready to go?
I actually went to the Cycles Toussaint website and went through the checkout process to see what the shipping on their cheapie $169 set of 650b wheels would be, but it wouldn't let me get that far, checkout system is borked. Those wheels are crazy cheap, and I don't imagine they are the best quality. Are those guys actually still in business?

That's a good price. The site worked for me. $75 shipped to Iowa but Cycles Toussaint is in Canada. Velo mine has 130 OLD 650b wheels at reasonable prices.

Not to hijack the thread, but how long ago did you order the Cycles Toussaint wheelset bikemig? I've read their various apologies on the CT blog for falling behind on fulfilling/shipping out customer orders. Currently having this issue with an order from Soma/Merry Sales in SF.
If CT can actually ship out their wheels in a price-effective/timely fashion, then their wheels look like the go-to for a classic 650b rim brake build. I'm also eyeing their 50.4 BCD cranks!

I've been proscrastinating on buying a set of 650b wheels from Velomine for a while. But everytime I get that 650b itch, I go out and ride the local trails my drop bar Stumpy for a while which cures me of that itch. I have ordered from Velomine in the past and it is a very good company.

Ah bikemig understood! I agree about Velo Mine, they were excellent in the past. I'm a big Campy guy, and they had the best selection of any online retailer for new and recent Campy componentry at the time. Did a lot of business with them until about 2017, when it seemed like their business started slowing down somewhat. That's also around when my "retrogrouch" persona fully took over my psyche - he sold off everything I owned that was made out of carbon and buried my Garmin in an unmarked grave somewhere.

Also Lascauxcaveman I had a similar thread not too long ago where I asked about 650b wheelsets, either used or new, where several other BFers chimed in with thoughts. The Cycles Toussaint are definitely attractive, and I was actually going to email them today or tomorrow to inquire about their lead times. I can report back here, if you like! And if the S&H is reasonable, I just might buy a set, too.

If it's the set I'm thinking of, I believe the seller is a member here, too. Darned if I can think of his handle, though. Avatar is a crab or something like that. Argh!

EDIT: I thought this was a complete wheelset. I might have been thinking of another listing with a full set. This kind of stuff kinda blurs after a while....
I don't want to post the sellers email here. If anyone's really interested PM me for the contact info.
Listing:
This is a polished silver 32h non-disc Schmidt SL (connectorless) hub in a silver 650B Brevet rim. DT DB Revolution (2.0/1.5) spokes laced 2 cross. This wheel is light and strong, professionally built, straight and true, and shows no wear other than pad residue on the brake surface. Pacenti tubeless rim tape and tubeless valve are included. Can be set up tubeless or with tube.
$395 net to me. Shipping is additional at actual cost.
Please respond off-list if interested.
