Wanted: Acera 7 Speed brake/shifter Lever
I got, what I think is, lucky yesterday, finding this at my lake cottage dump site...

The bike is cosmetically challenged but working just fine, with one exception - a broken shift/brake lever. I am interested in buying, or trading for the lever or even the lever set, if anyone has one or a set to spare. Thanks and the piece would have to be shipped to postal code P7B 0B2 (Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada). Fingers crossed...

Well, even though jdawginsc linked me to, what appeared to be, exactly what I needed, I missed the opportunity. For a couple of reasons.
First, to buy those lever, beautiful NOS that they are/were, would set me back over $84.00 CND. Were I restoring the Devinci I would have bought the set in a heart beat. But the big D is not up for restoration. I just want a good quality mountain bike to ride at the lake cottage..
Reason number two...
I noticed something in the Ebay listing that got me to thinking. The levers on my Devinci have a "V-Brake" sticker on each lever. Those, in the Ebay listing did not. Is it important to get a set of "V-Brake" levers or will a set, not made for the v-brake thing do the job? Your thoughts would be appreciated...

Anyway, rear brake or no rear brake, gonna go for a wee spin, up, down, around and back again, later today, on my Devinici. I have checked the bike over and swapped the handlebar for a mountain bike flat bar. I do, however, still need to add a bit of air to the vintage air that did not have enough time to escape, over the years. I always, if possible, test ride a bike before I decide to build, or not.
