Renoving powder coat from shifter bosses

I got a frame powder coated and the shifter bosses were powder coated over. Is there a way to remove it? Will a file work?

Thanks in advance.

Dont quote me, but I have seen most success carefully using a razor blade

Yes, a fine and sharp one.
I think you will find the cylinder will dress up pretty well.
If you are using Campagnolo levers the square base may also require some attention, tape off the tube with a layer or two of blue painters tape first is my suggestion.

x2 on the razor blade. Careful though because when powdercoat chips it comes off in flakes from my experience and their ain't no going back.
