German/Austrian Hosteler

Hello! I have a "Hosteler" (not Italian/French). Is 52" at seat post/27" wheels. Not much info on it . Is most likely a "Barvarian" Hosteler. Want more info re quality/history on bike/parts. Specs :[B]wheels - Schurmann chrome, made in Germany, 27 X 1 1/2 and a rigid(a)?, chromage, superior 27 x 1 1/4, made in france, rims - Semper, made in Austria, Quick release Gnutti, made in Italy, Hub- Normandy 30/70, made in France, Brakes - Weinmann symetric, sidepull, Derailleurs - Simplex, kickstand -Plescher, stem- Ava, made in France. Seat tube decals show Olympic rings-the Olympics in Germany in 1972. Seat tube decal says "made in Austria". Seat tube has a sticker -"Wheel Goods Hosteler Centers". Where the chain stays meet at top seat tube imprint says "Made in Germany, Lizenz Pischer " and has a "U" with a shield around it. Serial #129342 . The bike is dark green. Any info? Thanks.

You probably mean 52 cm, not 52".

It's starting to sound like something out of the Steyr/Puch manufacturing mega-conglomerate. Pictures please, or it didn't happen.

Is the frame styled anything like this one, especially at the upper ends of the satstays?

The German brake bridge is probably ESGE-Swiss, made for attaching their rack.

Hello, speedy 1! Without pictures, it's very hard for us to help you identify the bike. If you have a means of getting pictures onto your compter, we can help you get them uploaded.
