A Bike For Sarah
A few years ago, I curb picked a mauve Nishiki mixte. It had suffered a front collision but the frame and fork were rideable. As I had no need of the bike, it sat in my garage in pieces.
Now a young lady, the daughter of a friend, wants to go to school in Portland and is for now living in our spare room. Sarah arrived without a bike, so it is time to build up the Nishiki.
Pictures will follow. This will be a budget build. Like, everything has to come from the original bike or the parts bin.
I'm going to count this as a n - 1 even if the bike is not physically leaving my garage right away.

I would count that as a provisional N-1 until she moves out and takes it with her.
Good for you for helping her out. I did a Fuji Sagres mixte in that color for my daughter recently.

@jyl, take credit for that N-1 now, and get whatever C&V bike your heart desires. Opportunity never knocks 2wice. Good excuse to restock your parts bin with a bunch of Campy bits while you're about it.

+10 I take credit for when the transaction takes place, rather than when the bike physically leaves. I sold two bikes this week, they are still in the basement, but I got paid, so in my book, they are G O N E. 2015 = N-25 baby!!!

Well, the Nishiki was too small for Sarah. So I took a rigid mountain bike (Hard Rock that was badged "LLBean"), mounted Armadillo road tires and fenders, lights, and a U lock. It will do fine and I still count it as an n - 1.

And turned it into this:
Looks like we're in the same town. You going to the C&V ride out of Velo Cult?
