LeJeune question
I'm trying to get info on a recent acquisition. A red Lejeune, I dunno what. No blue on the head tube. Late 60's?? There is a Simplex threaded dropout with Campy NR derailleur dated 72. This had to be tapped out, right? Also the frame is stamped 67 A on the bottom. That's it - 67 A. There is residue of a 531 decal on the right front fork. A TA crank and PHILLIPPE PROFESSIONNEL handle bar. MAFAC Racer brakes. Cool braised on rear brake hanger at the seat post clamp. Any idea of the date or model of this bike? Thanks, George

CV-6 I think has catalog reference, advising as to chrome or lack thereof, and the style of the for dropouts might help.
Style of graphics can point to the date in a broad way. Yes, modified Simplex for Campagnolo. no question on that. Even the mid market LeJeunes have good geometry and perform well. I have my share. I like them. |
is the specta chainset you mention a trois attachees?
suspect i may have the same model. it came with a juy criterium gear ensemble and luxe competition tubular wheels. the red on my example is flambouyant rather than the sonolor opaque. looking forward to the pictures. our favourite aircraft carrier will be putting into port shortly and will no doubt send a signal to enlighten us all. ;) |
FWIW, all my Lejeune catalogs are on line both at the link in my signature and on Bob Broderick's LejeuneVelo-Pages. There really are only two and some spec/pricing sheets.
Hard to say what model your Lejeune is without any further info. (Photos) Lejeunes did have standard models but could be upgraded ala carte in many instances. |
