1974 Fuji Finest Acquisition / CL Find.

I picked this bike up off of craigslist. Seemingly low mileage. Very well kept. Slight pitting on the headset and cable clamps. I think its a 74 based on the date code on the V-GT Luxe. Cant decide if its a keeper or not. Gonna swap on another 27" wheelset I have with new tires and see how she rides.

Nice bike. There's tons of info about Fuji dates online. I think you're right about it being an early 70's model. That one looks like it belongs in a bike store window display. A real classic. If maintained, will remain valuable. Have fun. Be good.

Looks amazing for a 40 year old bike. It's a dream of mine to go on craigslist or a thrift store and find a vintage bike that is in good condition and fits me. Yeah, I think I'll keep dreaming about that...

The wheelset is a weird mix. Matching Ukai 27" with a Schwinn Approved Normandy high flange front, and a Sunshine High Flange rear.

I think the guy took the old seats off and tossed these on as a way to sell the bike. What a shame.

Because the wheels werent original, nor did they match 100%, I felt no guilt for tossing on a set of Velomine CR18's and some Panaracer Pasela's in 700c-35.

Good find! The Finest is an excellent ride, especially if you could source some tubular rims.

Fuji Finest's are usually considered keepers, especially when they're in that condition. If you decide it's not for you I'm sure you'll be able to recoup your investment. To me they seem like the Japanese PX-10, a bike boom classic, not too fancy but still very nice.

Its definitely one of the nicer Japanese production bikes of the period. The Dia-Compe decals kill me though.

I hope that it rides better then the PX-10 I briefly owned .. I nicknamed it "Christine" after the Stephen King novel. I always felt it was trying to throw me.

Fuji's are nice rides , You found a good one as many Japanese bikes were not well respect and trashed. I especially like the head badge....FTR I like the twitchiness of my PX-10.
Regards, Ben
