End of an Era in St Louis Cycling

A-1 Bicycle Company is no more.

But it does live on under the name Billy Goat Bicycle Company.

Raymond has passed the business on to a new owner. His name is Dirk and I am embarrassed to say I cannot recall his last name. While I am sure some things will change, I already know Dirk is into C&V as he has his own two Colnago Masters, a Team Panasonic (actual team bike) and a Peugeot on display. He has been a long time customer of Raymond and A-1 so things look good in my eyes.

Raymond indicated he is slowly weaning himself away from the shop. He said he would even have time to ride, now.

Grand Opening is May 9.

Is Billy Goat Bicycle Company opening in the same location as the previous A-1 store? I haven't been by there in a while and I wasn't aware of the history concerning the A-1 shop. Very cool!

I had the pleasure of visiting Billy Goat Bicycle last week. Being new to the area, it was my first visit to this business. Raymond took care of me and cleaned up some threads on a Stronglight crank using a tap.

It was a good experience. I'm probably going to rely on Raymond anytime a task requires special tools.
