Hi guys,

I am in need to ask if you can get the right reading based on the image below?

I personally has send it to a bike shop, but all sizes he could fit was 26.8 and it's very very tight after inserting...

The next best bet would be 26.4?? or 26.2??

Inputs needed.

Thanks,

Pretty hard to tell from here. Your instrument doesn't really look accurate enough for the job.

You are putting grease on the seatpost when you insert it, right? Tight is good as long as it goes in without forcing. Careful tightening it too. Those hollow ears are fairly easy to mangle; another reason you don't want to use a post that's loose fitting.

Miyata used a very-unusual 26.7 seatpost on some of their frames...might have included some of their contract-built Univegas as well.
I believe Kalloy offers a 26.6 in both LaPrade style and plain alloy post. Also consider having a mechanic who you trust correct the roundness and ream it to the next-up useful size, which might be 26.8, especially if there's any distortion/corrosion or ovalizing.

Find a local bike shop that has these or similar and have them check it.

Thanks for the inputs.

Here I have another image of a better measurement. It seems 26.6mm.
