Raleigh Converted To Fixed
8 Attachment(s)
1980 Raleigh Super Record conversion to fixed. Originally bought for $60 with paint that was pretty much flaking off when I gave it a wipe down. Btw, $60 isn't unreasonable in the SF Bay, every bike is overpriced. I decided to make the bike modernish, but kept the raleigh seat logo and head tube badge. Let me know what you think!
p.s. how many pennies do you think it's worth in the inflated Bay Area market. |
6000-10,000

What do I think? A fixie huh. I'm pretty sure there are hills in San Francisco. How practical is that?
|
Well yes, that paint is pretty atrocious, and a Super Record is a pretty low end bike. But on the other hand, if you can get up and down the hills of SF with that gearing, you're a better man than I, Gunga Din. Much better. :thumb:
Since it's a conversion, the here's my conversion value estimate: $6000 JMD. |
Steel rims, heavy frame and huge gear inches....priceless!

The Record/Grand Prix/Super Record are very popular models to fixiefy in the Boston area, but my sense is that prices have kind of crashed for those low-end conversions when you can buy a brand new fixed gear for $87 at Walmart.
