Preserving C&V Team Stickers

This is one of the stickers in question from Fran's Maassen's '94 WordPerfect Team Colnago Master, as you can see it is getting weak. I found a fine arts major who can mix the slightly purple, blue paint for touch ups but is worried about enamel or epoxy clear coat on the sticker. It does not look like modern vinyl, more like a plastic coating on a paper backing. The other stickers are a "Colnago" on the rim with the Ambrosio Excellence stickers and they all look like worn vinyl so should be good for clear coating.
I have been putting Protectant 303 on the stickers but would like a better coating for washing/rain, etc.
Any relevant experience you could share would be appreciated.
