Regrets

I was just wishing I had kept my Campy Tool Box, instead of selling most of it years ago (I kept the wrenches & dishing tool). Not that it would get much use these days.

You ??

Wingsprint 06-06-15 06:57 PM

Selling my 1990 Yeti FRO with a full Campy group.

thumpism 06-06-15 07:13 PM

Giving away the perfect Raleigh Portage 650B that was given to me.

Vonruden 06-06-15 07:16 PM

No regrets...they were all loved and have funded new loves. :)

Sold a Confente in 1978. "I can always order another one later"

Not really a regret, but decisions are made. Things happen.

My Serotta Colorado. in cool yellow and red classic paint scheme.

SquidPuppet 06-06-15 07:59 PM

I regret selling my 1958 VW Rag Top. Idiot!

sloar 06-06-15 07:59 PM

For years every bike I get I take a picure and put it in a separate album. When I look through all the pics, there's a few regrets in there.

Ha! I would say that I regret not getting my '67 hardtop running when I was a teen. I really was over my head with that one though. My sis owns it now and is giving it a shot.

Yeah, I'm a Moron. Mine was finished. Fully dechromed, Porsche red, Porsche rims, 1600 engine and 1966 tranny, all new glass and molding, upholstery, etc etc etc. Cherry.

Sold it in 1980 because "I'm over this phase now."

Rode a 1972 Schwinn Sports Tourer all through college in the mid 80's. I don't even remember what I did with it but i sure miss it. I got an opaque blue 1973 World Voyageur recently to compensate but I miss the Brooks saddle of the Sports Tourer.

With regard to vehicles i miss my pewter 1972 Camaro Super Sport and my 1969 AMC Javelin SST in BIG Bad Blue.

Buying this bike: http://i.imgur.com/eKpZ2Ir.jpg

I was poor, and really wanted a bike. So I went to the thrift store and wasted $60 on a ladies hybrid. If I would've just waited a bit longer, I could have a nice vintage road bike right now...

I still miss my alfa sprint... I think it's ok because I sold it to a good bloke and I firmly believe he is feeding it 98 octane and opening it up on the weekend and it isn't rotting in a garage somewhere. Please let this be true...

Mark Donahue endorsed. Penske and Mark made AMC meaningful.

The Bates frame I picked up from the tip, and sold on Fleabay (£60) before I knew anything. No fork, but.... :(

Wish I had tried racing when I was young. I have difficulty contemplating using 52-14 unless I'm going down a slight hill or have wind at my back. Weighing 120, rarely switching out of that gear... I'll never know.

The Golden Boy 06-07-15 07:25 AM

Regrets.

I've had a few.

But then again, too few to mention.

nlerner 06-07-15 07:30 AM

I regret clicking on this thread.

IMO. This is the stupidest line in all of Frank Sinatra's popular work. HTFU and quit whining is how I think about that line.
I live in NYC, so that makes me an expert. (OK, not really, but it comes up all the time. People are hung up on Frank here.)

I regret buying parts that suck.

iab 06-07-15 07:32 AM

My twentieth birthday.

Maybe it's just a bad translation of the original French... :p

Ha! Just like Pommes Frites.

ThermionicScott 06-07-15 10:48 AM

I haven't actually sold off much of the bike stuff I've accumulated over the years, so at worst, I suppose I regret buying some parts I may never use.

I'm pretty lucky, I guess.
