Was looking back at this thread and noticed my original pics had disappeared. Here are some fresh ones just to help fill in the blanks. Not the exact same pics but I hope they will help.

I have a good friend who is a good photographer, and I will ask him to shoot my McLean, because my pictures are terrible. He happens to own a McLean, too! He got his first, in 1982, which made me aware of the name. Then a year later, someone offered to sell me his, so I snatched it up. It was only a year old then.

Here it is, two weeks ago, after a 50-mile very hilly ride. I've removed the Campagnolo Nuovo and Super Record drivetrain and replaced it with a 3x9 Shimano drivetrain. I haven't got the left shifter to work yet, so for now, I'm using a downtube shifter for the front derailleur.

Very interesting info and pictures. I don't recall the name McLean but I certainly remember Cycle Imports of Cornish, Maine. The workmanship of his frames are fantastic. So sad that he passed away at such an early age.

One built.

Also in contact with two forum members that are knee deep in McLean projects.

They are fairly local, but I have missed some ops to see in person.

Will have to fix that.

Recently I changed the cranks (Velo-Orange) and front derailleur (Ultegra) on my McLean. I think the rings are 24/38/48, so my gears are much lower than before. It works great. This a bike I keep upstate where the roads are quite hilly.
