The patina on the frame decals makes me think that it is original, but it may have some newer parts like fenders or chain guard. The reflectors on the wheels are new as well. It looks pretty nice to cruise around the neighborhood. A wicker basket would not look out of place on the handlebars.

I keep thinking I need an old cruiser like this but not until I get a ground floor flat.

I'm thinking Western Flyer is the brand sold in Western Auto stores, and Galaxy Flyer is a model name within their line of bikes.

Yep, that's what we have here. The wheels appear original, but with newer reflectors.

The only thing missing are the old leather boot laces tied around the hubs.
Used to be you would take your dad's old leather logging boot laces, oiled in mink oil many many winters and when they wore out cut a length and then tie them it in a loop around the front and rear hub, so that as you rode they polished the hubs. Saw this on lots of bikes way back when.
Does yours have the oil cap on the rear hub? Didn't see that. You would flip it open and get Dad's goose neck oil can and oil the hub. Almost made you feel like you were working on your car, a constant object of lust and speculation to the generation of the 60s.
Mine was from Coast-to Coast an early hardware store now gone and yes Bianchigirll you really don't want to even think of carrying this up flights of stars, it was enough just to get it rolling, but once you did a bike like this (but not woman's frame) started it all for me.
