Needed: Stronglight 99 LH crank
Hi all
I just stripped a frame and found that the very nice Stronglight crank had been replaced on the left side by a Solida. If anyone has a spare left to sell and send, or would like to buy a right hand at minimal cost, please let me know? I'll put a photo of the actual crank up later, but in the mean time, it's pretty much this one: https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8041/7...e37a3b01e8.jpg |
there are early and late type 99's. if you wish a perfect match you need to know which you have. set seen in photo is late type. (all the parts interchange between the two types)

Crank arm length?

I have two.
I left, the left hand side on my bikes because they had Peugeot and Motobecane on them. 170 mm. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psthufjf1e.jpg The one that has some scratches on it is the French threaded one. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psei0xqurb.jpg But I believed it's been tapped to English threads because I just put an old peddle on it to see. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psuoiemwoi.jpg I could send you one or I might be interested in the right hand crank. Been converting my bikes to the 86mm crank sets. Have one more bike. |
The right sides.
I like swapping the rings around on them. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...pscwzlyopr.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ps07a9a3af.jpg |

Except the extractor threads and dustcaps. The early ones use the proprietary 23.35mm diameter extractor; after 1982 they use a standard 22mm diameter extractor.
my error. :( 1978 was the launch year for the "mk.ii" edition of the 99. this was when verot did a major reworking of their lineup, introducing models such as the 104 and 105. |
