Do his parents ride? Or will you get to go with him?

Perfect use for that bike. Darn near indestructible, easy to maintain. My first experience working on a bike was my Schwinn Continental. I was probably 12 at the time. Its been a life skill that has stuck with me ever since. Continental did not fare as well, as it ended up getting stolen.

Campus Green -- cool! Looks like it is in nice condition.

When I worked at a Peugeot/Nishiki dealership, we sold an Olympic with 24" wheels -- we dubbed it the "BabyOly."

His parents ride Schwinn Fastback stingrays mostly to the downtown of the small city they live in.
He rides farther with me, he rides a little 6 speed mountain bike with me and has gone 15 miles at a time.
HE is only 7 will turn 8 in August. That bike might be a touch too big, but he rides a 24 inch wheel 78 Schwinn spitfire with no problem. I am a bike flipper so he has 6 bikes lol
